David Banks/Getty ImagesEddie Vedder performed a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” in support of his beloved Chicago Cubs during Sunday night’s World Series game.

“Wrigley Field is full, it’s October 30 and there’s baseball at Wrigley Field for the first time in history,” the Pearl Jam frontman declared before his performance. The Cubs haven’t won the World Series since 1908, and they haven’t even played in the Fall Classic since 1945.

Though his band is closely associated with Seattle, Vedder is a passionate Cubs fan, having been born in the Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois.

The Cubs pulled out a victory over the Cleveland Indians during Sunday’s Game 5, but they still trail in the series 3-2. Game 6 will be held Tuesday, November 1 in Cleveland.
