Guns N’ Roses apparently have an appetite for sarcasm. The band has posted a message on its official Facebook page that seems facetiously to thank certain people who have claimed that they helped inspire the upcoming reunion concerts that will feature at least some of the group’s main founding members.
“Guns N’ Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between,” the note reads. “Especially those whom we haven’t spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of media, have somehow served a pivotal, even if non-existent role. We, and the fans thank you!”
Although the message doesn’t name names, it likely is partly directed at Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler, who in a recent radio interview claimed that he met GN’R frontman Axl Rose in a club a few years ago and implored him to get back together with the other original members of the band.
As previously reported, a Guns N’ Roses lineup featuring Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan is confirmed to play two shows in Las Vegas, on April 8 and 9, as well as make a pair of headlining appearances at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, on April 16 and 23. Additional concerts are expected to be announced, although no other performances have been confirmed yet.
