Patrick Wymore/SHOWTIMEJohn Mellencamp makes a cameo on the sixth and latest episode of the Showtime comedy series Roadies, which premieres Sunday, July 31, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer portrays himself in the show and is featured playing an acoustic version of his 2008 song “Longest Days” as the young character Winston strums along.

You can check out a preview clip of Mellencamp’s performance at the official Roadies YouTube channel. The episode, which is titled “Lost Highway,” also features guest appearances by David Spade, Rosanna Arquette and Marc Maron.

Meanwhile, a newly recorded version of “Longest Days” by Mellencamp was has been chosen as the fifth track from the upcoming Roadies soundtrack album, which is scheduled to be released on August 26.

The program, which was created by award-winning filmmaker Cameron Crowe, takes a humorous look at a group of music-loving roadies and their lives working behind the scenes in the concert industry.
