Current Journey frontman Arnel Pineda has just released a new holiday EP titled, appropriately enough, Sounds of Christmas. The four-track collection is available now as a digital download at iTunes, and features the lead single, “This Christmas,” as well as the songs “Christmas Day,” “Christmas Time” and “Jingle Bells.”
The EP is part of a new multiple-record deal Pineda has signed with the Imagen Records label that also includes a new solo album that’s planning to release in 2016.
“I am pleased and honored to have the opportunity to sign with Imagen Records for my solo projects such as my new Christmas record out now, and my full length solo album coming out next in 2016,” Arnel says in a statement. “To all the Journey fans, thank you for all your love and support to me and our whole band, looking forward to Journey’s tour next year.”
As previously reported, Journey teams up with The Doobie Brothers and special guest Dave Mason for the San Francisco Fest 2016 tour, which is plotted out from a May 12 show in Irvine, California, through an August 30 gig in Chula Vista California. Longtime Journey drummer Steve Smith, who left the band in 1996, is returning to the lineup for the trek.
