Santana and Journey already had three joint concerts lined up in the northeastern U.S. next month, and now the bands have added a new co-headlining date that’s scheduled to take place on August 28 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. As with the April shows, Journey guitarist Neil Schon and ex-Journey singer/keyboardist Gregg Rolie will both perform as special guests with Santana at The Forum.
Schon and Rolie, of course, left Santana to form Journey back in 1973, and the two musicians also contributed to their old group’s new studio album, Santana IV, which will be released on April 15.
Tickets for the Inglewood concert will go on sale to the general public this Saturday, April 2, at 10 a.m. PT. Pre-sale tickets are available now for Santana and Journey fan club members and American Express cardholders, while a Live Nation pre-sale tickets also can be purchased now through the company’s website and mobile app.
As previously reported, Santana and Journey also will perform together on April 13 in New York City, April 15 in Uncasville, Connecticut, and April 16 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In addition, the Bay Area bands will team up with Steve Miller Band and The Doobie Brothers for a special show on September 4 at AT&T Park in San Francisco that’s already sold out. Journey also will be hitting the road with The Doobies and Dave Mason on the 2016 San Francisco Fest tour, which gets underway on May 12 and runs all the way through the end of August.
