Zombies frontman Colin Blunstone has been stricken with a bacterial infection, forcing the postponement of three dates of the band’s North American tour , which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the making of its classic album, Odessey and Oracle.
The postponed shows had been scheduled to take place this past Tuesday in Ridgefield, Connecticut; Thursday in Boston; and tonight in Northampton, Massachusetts.
There is some good news, though: The band has revealed via a post on its official Facebook page that Blunstone “is recovering rapidly,” and the tour is expected to resume this Saturday, April 1, in Montreal.
The nixed Ridgefield, Boston and Northampton concerts have been rescheduled for May 8, 9 and 10, respectively. The previous final gig of The Zombies’ North American trek was a May 6 appearance at the aTrolla Festival in Dallas.
In other news, The Zombies have added a special performance-and-discussion event to their itinerary that will be held April 27 at The Grammy Museum’s Clive Davis Theater in Los Angeles. Grammy Foundation vice president Scott Goldman will host the event. Tickets to the show go on sale to the general public on Thursday, April 6, at noon PT via AXS.com. American Express card holders can purchase pre-sale tickets now.
As previously reported, all four surviving original members of The Zombies are taking part in the tour, which features a full performance of their 1968 album Odessey and Oracle.
